Profile

I am a political scientist at the University of Klagenfurt and the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) Vienna. My work studies how voters and parties make strategic choices under certainty, risk, and uncertainty, and how institutions and geography shape electoral competition.

Substantively, I focus on electoral behaviour, party competition, electoral systems, welfare attitudes, and territorial patterns in election outcomes. Methodologically, I combine spatial voting theory with frequentist and Bayesian modelling in comparative and multilevel designs.

Before moving to Vienna and Klagenfurt, I held positions at the University of Greifswald, the European University Viadrina, and the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies.
